If you watched the final presidential debate, you’d know that President Trump was thoroughly prepared. He not only backed the Democratic nominee in a corner, he also watched as Biden dug his own grave.

One particular exchange where the POTUS went after Biden and got him to make a significant mistake was when Trump asked if Biden would close the oil industry. In response, Biden admitted that yes, he does want to do away with the oil industry.

“Would you close down the oil industry?” Trump asked Biden.

“I would transition from the oil industry, yes,” Biden replied.

“Why would you do that?” moderator Welker asked.

“Because the oil industry pollutes significantly,” Biden explained. “It has to be replaced with renewable energy over time.”

Biden went on to say that he would stop giving the oil industry federal subsidies.

For the voters, Trump emphasized what Biden said. “That’s maybe the biggest statement in terms of business … because basically what he said is he is going to destroy the oil industry. Will you remember that, Texas? Will you remember that Pennsylvania, Oklahoma?”

If you look at Trump’s face in the video, you’ll see that he knew Biden just made a colossal mistake that could cause him the election. Even moderator Kristen Welker couldn’t stop herself from reacting to Biden’s statement and asked him, “Why would you do that?”

Most people know just how significant the meaning of that statement was. One of them was activist and attorney Mark Meckler, who reacted on Twitter.

Actor James Woods rephrased Biden’s words into what they meant. “I’m going to end the oil industry.”

Biden indirectly said that he’d be ending an industry that several states rely on. If Biden didn’t lose those states, it’d be nothing but a miracle. In addition to that, Biden has also promised that he would raise taxes, another of his questionable decisions.

Trump didn’t let the opportunity to add icing to the cake slide. After Biden denied that he said he wanted to ban fracking or fossil fuels in the past, Trump called him out. Biden said that Trump was lying and told him to provide evidence after the debate, so he did.

Climate change was a topic that was supposed to help Biden and his campaign, but instead, it has almost certainly ensured Trump’s win.
