An updated statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office Middle District of Pennsylvania was issued Thursday regarding the discovered military mail-in ballots found to have been discarded in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
The Attorney’s Office earlier stated that all the ballots were cast for President Trump, yet clarified in an updated statement that seven of the nine recovered ballots cast for Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump.
Before recovery by the FBI, Luzerne elections staff resealed the remaining two ballots inside their envelopes. The contents of the two ballots remain unknown.
In the statement of the U.S. Attorney’s Office Middle District of Pennsylvania, Luzerne County District Attorney; Stefanie Salavantis requested an inquiry into reports of potential issues with some mail-in ballots at the Luzerne County Board of Elections.
The search was carried out by the Office of the United States Attorney and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, several interviews were conducted by the FBI personnel working alongside Pennsylvania State Police. They have recovered and reviewed specific physical evidence.
Luzerne County election officials have been cooperative, and the investigating team can confirm a small number of military ballots that were discarded.
Nine ballots have been recovered, seven of which cast for President Trump. Some of the ballots can be attributed to specific voters, yet some cannot.
The remaining two discarded ballots were resealed inside their appropriate envelopes by the Luzerne elections staff before the FBI’s recovery. The contents of which are unknown.
The update comes as USPS officials found trays of mail in a ditch in Greenville, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, Breitbart reported.
According to FOX 11 News, the mails were seen along the road in the Fox Valley. Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office confirmed three trays, which included absentee ballots, were found near the Appleton International Airport around 8 AM Monday.
The Sheriff’s Office told the Washington Examiner that the discovered trays were “mail going to the post office.”
“The United States Postal Inspection Service immediately began investigating, and we reserve further comment on this matter until that is complete,” US Postal Service spokesman Bob Sheehan told WLUK.
There have been warning signs on the use of absentee ballots for the incoming election. President Trump has repeatedly voiced his concerns over its use. He urged voters to go in person as a more reliable way to secure their votes.
Breitbart earlier reported another one of Trump’s statements.
“We’re not going to destroy this country by allowing things like that to happen. We’re not destroying our country,” the president said. “This has more to do with fairness and honesty and, really, our country itself,” he continued.
Findings such as mail-in ballots being discarded, undeliverable, and with deceased individuals in the voter rolls are tell-tale signs that the results would likely be rigged if unguarded.
We could only hope for a fair election.
