First Lady Melania Trump has been friends with Stephanie Winston Wolkoff for more than a decade. Wolkoff was employed as one of First Lady Melania’s advisors in the White House, and her event planning firm also headed up the Trump Inauguration.
But it seems that friendship is soon to end… if it hasn’t yet.
Wolkoff appeared on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 to discuss some secret recordings that she had of multiple telephone calls with Melania in 2018. CNN also aired the recordings.
Wolkoff just released a book titled, “Melania and Me,” which details their long friendship from New York City, Melania’s transition into the White House as the First Lady, and Wolkoff’s belief that she was used as the fall girl when an investigation was launched into the whereabouts of the huge amount of money the inaugural committee took in. (The Hill reported that Wolkoff personally pocketed $500,000 for her event planning firm.)
The calls were mostly about how Melania was frustrated with the “liberal media,” and her belief that the media was intentionally not writing stories about the positive things she did in detention centers at the US-Mexico border. According to her, the media instead preferred to seek ways to portray her as “complicit” with her husband’s policies.
During a call in July 2018, Melania was once again frustrated with the criticism and vented to her “friend.” She said that she didn’t give a f**k about Christmas, and it seems she was only doing what she was expected to be doing, not because she actually wanted to do it.
“They say I’m complacent. I’m the same like him, I support him. I don’t say enough I don’t do enough where I am. I’m working … my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f*** about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?
Stephanie Grisham, the First Lady’s spokesperson, released a statement to CNN saying, “Secretly taping the First Lady and willfully breaking an NDA to publish a salacious book is a clear attempt at relevance. The timing of this continues to be suspect – as does this never-ending exercise in self-pity and narcissism.”
Right after Wolkoff appeared on Anderson Cooper 360, President Trump appeared on Hannity and confirmed the rumors that Hope Hicks, a high-level aide, had indeed tested positive for the coronavirus. He also stated that he and Melania had taken a test and were awaiting results.
A few hours after his statement, Trump tweeted that he and Melania have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
With so many events unfolding and the election drawing closer, it seems the month of October will once again be lively.
