Hunter Biden has finally been found after he disappeared following the New York Post’s story about his forgotten laptop and the evidence of crimes found in it.
Granted, we never got confirmation from the Biden campaign that it belonged to the Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son, but we didn’t get any denials either. All they did was evade the question every single time.
The weird thing is, Hunter Biden decided to make his re-appearance on the night his father gave a victory speech — on Saturday night.
Politico writers Kyle Cheney and Andrew Desiderio wrote a piece describing how the laptop story just went away and “fizzled.” In the article, they wrote that Joe Biden “was joined on a Delaware stage by his son Hunter — the villain of one of Trump’s last-ditch attacks — where the two clasped hands and waved after Biden’s victory speech.”
The Politico piece dismissed the laptop story as a “factually challenged [narrative] about Biden in the waning weeks of the campaign” in which Joe Biden “was the secret beneficiary of multi-million-dollar business deals with shady foreign interests carried out by Hunter Biden.”
According to them, that story was “riddled with falsehoods, exaggerations and assumptions, often pushed by unreliable narrators who revealed no evidence of wrongdoing by Biden.”
“Though Biden’s son may face legitimate legal problems over his foreign activities — and recent reports suggest he is facing an ongoing FBI investigation — no evidence connects the elder Biden to those allegations, and even Trump acknowledged that top advisers were urging him to back off the Hunter claims so close to Election Day,” Cheney and Desiderio wrote.
It seems that Cheney and Desiderio might be underestimating what complications Hunter Biden might bring to Joe Biden’s presidency.
Could they be forgetting that Tony Bobulinski has evidence backing his claims that he met with Joe Biden and that he wasn’t the “secret beneficiary of multi-million-dollar business deals with shady foreign interests”? But even without the evidence, Hunter Biden is still under a federal investigation.
Although the emails didn’t provide any evidence that old Joe was involved in the shady business deals, the emails don’t exactly exonerate him, either.
First, Hunter Biden joined the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings. So far, nothing illegal has been done, but it’s obviously strange. Hunter has no experience working in the energy sector, let alone in Ukraine.
After that, Joe Biden used the power of the United States government on Ukraine to have top prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired. Biden later bragged about this at an event hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations.
The reason Shokin had to be fired was that he was investigating Burisma Holdings.
Aside from the emails between Hunter Biden and top Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi, there’s also an active federal investigation around the laptop regarding possible money-laundering charges. Fox News had confirmed that the laptop had been subpoenaed by the FBI.
“Multiple federal law enforcement officials, as well as two separate government officials, confirmed the authenticity of these documents, which were signed by FBI Special Agent Joshua Wilson,” Fox News reported on October 21. “Wilson did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.”
Meanwhile, Sinclair Broadcasting reported on October 30 that a Justice Department official confirmed: “that the FBI opened up a criminal investigation into Hunter Biden and his associates back in 2019, focused on allegations of money-laundering and that the probe remains active.”
Joe Biden talked a lot about “unity” during his victory speech on Saturday night, but how will we be united if we’re constantly wondering why he can’t answer any questions concerning his son?
