One of President Biden’s campaign ads from last year just caught up to him. “When Joe Biden is president, America is just going to have to keep up,” the ad went.
Well, it seems he needs to slow down.
As he was getting up to Air Force One, Biden stumbled not just once but twice before finally falling the third time. And according to the White House, he fell because “it’s pretty windy outside.”
On Friday, White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that she nearly stumbled because of the wind.
“It’s pretty windy outside. It’s very windy. I almost fell coming up the steps myself,” Jean-Pierre said.
As usual, the media has done its best to downplay the incident. Granted, he’s 78, but that’s exactly why he should be walking and not running!
In contrast, former President Trump always wisely took his time whenever he walked up or down ramps and stairs. And unsurprisingly, the media wouldn’t stop talking about it for days.
Since the media won’t talk about it, Twitter users have brought it on themselves to bring it up.
Here’s a meme one user made:
Kate Bedingfield, the White House communications director, tweeted, “I know folks have seen that President Biden slipped on his way up the stairs to AF1, but I’m happy to report that he is just fine and did not even require any attention from the medical team who travels with him. Nothing more than a misstep on the stairs.”
